Cooperative Law Survey Results Guide Innovative Efforts Toward an Improved Employment Law Practice

By Cara Ching-Senaha and Chaya Mandelbaum

Cara Ching-Senaha leads the employment practice at Moscone Emblidge & Otis LLP. Since 2004, Cara has served on the Section’s Executive Committee in a variety of capacities – including as current Vice-Chair of the Cooperative Law Subcommittee.

Chaya Mandelbaum is a Partner at Rudy, Exelrod, Zieff & Lowe, LLP where he represents employees in individual and class action litigation and negotiations across the spectrum of employment law. Mr. Mandelbaum also serves as Chair of the California Fair Employment and Housing Council. The Council promulgates regulations concerning California’s employment and housing discrimination laws.

In the spring of 2015, the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Law Section launched the Cooperative Law Subcommittee. The first of its kind, the Subcommittee’s purposes are two-fold: (1) to evaluate the practice of Section members, and (2) to propose improvements that promote attorney civility, litigation and resolution efficiency, legal access, and satisfaction. Like the Section, the Subcommittee is comprised of employee-side and employer-side attorneys and neutral workplace investigators who practice labor and employment law.
