Happy Winter, Ninth Circuit Report readers! This fall saw heated debate leading up to the confirmation of newly appointed Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh. Justice Kavanaugh is a former federal appeals court judge with numerous intellectual property cases under his belt. Many may be wondering how Justice Kavanaugh’s appointment will affect upcoming Ninth Circuit cases making their way to the Supreme Court. This issue of the Ninth Circuit Report summarizes the Rimini Street v. Oracle case, which was granted certiorari on September 27, 2018.
