LICENSING INTEREST GROUP
The Licensing Interest Group (LIG) is a place for lawyers who draft a wide variety of agreements. We invite everyone to join (it’s free). In addition to sponsoring webinars LIG holds monthly calls on emerging licensing issues such as: Software Copyright after Oracle v Google; Reverse Engineering Provisions; Open Licensing Pitfalls and How to Avoid Them; and Proprietary Information and Inventions Agreements.
We call your attention to articles in this issue of New Matter by two of our officersâDirector of Programming Sean Hogle and our new Director of Communications Teri Karobonik. LIG also congratulates Vice Chair John Pavolotsky on his panel, Attack of The Drones, at this year’s IP Institute, which addressed issues in the commercial use of drones. John also presented the MCLE webinar, Negotiating Data Licenses, in October.
Upcoming MCLE webinars sponsored by LIG:
Monthly calls: Second Friday of the month at noon PST. The next call will be at noon, December 11th, led by Douglas Robbins of Wood Rob-bins LLP, who will discuss best practices in contract drafting when an agreement is likely to be interpreted by a jury.
