Dear Section Member:
Over the past year many events have occurred that are shaping the Bar and its leadership, and that are equally impactful on the Sections. Some of those events include major shakeups in senior Bar staff. Another important event occurred last year when the Legislature required the State Auditor to perform a thorough financial audit of the Bar, which is due May 15, 2016. Last year’s bar dues bill required the Bar to comply with the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act and the California Public Records Act (SB 387 (Jackson), Chap. 537, Stats. 2015, hereinafter referred to as the "Acts"). This requirement also applies to the Sections.
