MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
Andrew Cain
Arecurring theme in the recent installments of my "Message from the Chair" has been the importance of getting involved. Whether providing pro bono service or advocating for the judiciary to receive appropriate funding, readers were provided a perspective on how each of us, as Section members, can take steps to better the practice of family law across the state. In reflecting on the theme of involvement, it is important to recognize the many other ways we can lend a hand in the continuing efforts to enhance the system in which we operate. As I exit the doorway on my time as Chair, I leave the following additional thoughts on how we can all play our part in this community.
Join a Standing Committee
Looking for a cost-effective way to directly impact the work being done at the state level? FLEXCOM has15 different standing committees whose members serve as a vital lifeline informing the work being done by our voting members and advisors. Each standing committee has a chair/co-chair responsible for leading meetings, creating agendas, and insuring the work of the committee is accomplished. This chair participates in the regular FLEXCOM meetings to serve as the voice of the standing committee.
