Message from the Chair
Vanessa Kirker Wright
As I exit my time as Chair, I find myself reflecting on all that this section does, and how rich is the experience of volunteering to advance our practice and protect our clients.
A recurring theme in my "Message from the Chair" has been the importance of being informed and involved in our profession. I hoped to describe how each of us, as section members, can take steps to better the practice of family law for ourselves, the courtrooms in which we practice and, most of all, for our clients. In advancing these goals, I have had the pleasure of working with some of the finest family law attorneys in California. I hope that as you read this, you are motivated to join a state bar committee, or mentor a young attorney, or present an MCLE to your local bar, or volunteer for a low-income panel. It is not only good for the people you helpâit is good for you as well.
