As we continue to adjust to the lingering affects COVID-19 has had on lawyers in our state, the Business Law News (BLN) continues to provide our readers with the broadest possible range of articles affecting business lawyers. In this issue of the BLN, the focus is on ethics and how everchanging technological advancements continue to alter the way corporations interface with their constituents and the manner in which we communicate and practice law.
Once again, BLN is pleased to include an article from Neil J. Wertlieb, our ethics expert, co-chair of the CLA’s Ethics Committee, and long-standing contributor and advisor to the BLN. In his article Negotiation and Documentation, Neil addresses ethical issues for lawyers in their interaction with the opposing side in deal negotiations and documentation.
In her article entitled Lawyers May Benefit from Re-Regulation, Alison Buchanan explores whether the State Bar Act and the Rules of Professional Conduct continue to serve their primary purpose of protecting the public and the integrity of the justice system and whether the current regulations continue to exclusively serve these goals.
