Executive Committee: Message from the Chair
Robert G. Harris
Dear members of the Business Law Section and readers of the Business Law News:
This is my last message to you as Chair of the Business Law Section ("BLS"). I write with two purposes in mind: first, to thank the several hundred volunteer members and officers of, and advisors to, the BLS Standing Committees and BLS Executive Committee for your service through one of the most turbulent years the sixteen sections of the State Bar ("Sections") have ever experienced; and second, to provide an update on the events likely to impact all Sections in the future.
Weeks after last year’s annual meeting, the newly-minted and continuing officers of the BLS Standing Committees participated in a two-day retreat to exchange ideas, learn how to best fulfill their duties to the more than 8,000 members of the Sections and create plans to guide each of their committees in efforts going forward. The retreat was a rousing success; I watched the participants leave well-prepared, enthusiastic, and fully ready to achieve all they had envisioned.
