Executive Committee: Message from the Chair
Robert V. Hawn
As the State Bar year begins to wind down, my term as Chair comes to an end. It has been a privilege and an honor to serve as the Chair of the Business Law Section. Like the Chairs before me, I have been blessed and humbled with so many intelligent and dedicated individuals.
First and foremost are the members of our Standing Committees. When you look at the many accomplishments of the Section over the past year, it is due to the hard work of our Standing Committee members. Our Standing Committees focus on such diverse substantive areas as Business Litigation to Legal Opinions, truly covering the extraordinary breadth of business practice in California.
Second, and assisting them in their efforts to produce content and create clarity in our state’s statutes, is the Executive Committee. Each of these members has monthly obligations for meetings of the full Committee, meetings and tasks within various subcommittees, and responsibility for a number of portfolio projects, ranging from our Breakfast at the Annual Meeting to extending our reach in social media. Members and advisors to the Executive Committee are also leaders in other organizations, including the American Bar Association, California Bankruptcy Forum, and the Commercial Law League of America, to name a few.
