Welcome to the Annual Review issue of the Business Law News (BLN)! The BLN is the crown jewel of the Business Law Section (BLS), and we’re extremely proud of the cutting-edge and practice-oriented articles that have appeared in the BLN for decades.
While this BLN issue includes reviews of legal changes that occurred in 2017, it is published for the first time under the California Lawyers Association (CLA) banner, making this a first-of-a-kind issue. As part of a private, nonprofit entity, the BLS is excited to shed the sometimes-stifling regulations under which it previously operated, and to rededicate itself to improving the practice of law in California. Under the CLA, the sky’s the limit as to what we, as the second largest voluntary lawyer’s association in the United States, can accomplish together with our members.
