Welcome from the Business Law Section! It with great pleasure that we bring you this issue of the Business Law News.
Since you are holding this issue, you have taken the first and best step in improving your practice by joining, or maintaining your membership in, the Business Law Section. In addition to this magazine, we are working hard to bring you the best in continuing legal education. The Business Law Section, however, is so much more.
As lawyers, we often work long hours in pursuing our client’s best interests, and our world can often become awfully limited to the task at hand. You can expand your world, however, and enrich your professional life through the tools provided by the Section. For example, in the last issue of the Business Law News, I encouraged you to join a standing committee. By doing so, you’ll work with many of the State’s thought leaders in your field, while helping to expand the profession’s knowledge and expertise. By writing and speaking, you can also extend your exposure beyond your current network. Interested? Then just go to http://businesslaw.calbar.ca.gov/StandingCommittees/Application.aspx for a description of what you’ll be able to do in a standing committee, and an application.
