Welcome to Business Law News (BLN) 2019 Issue 3! As noted in the Message from the Chair, we present in this issue an inaugural article by Neil J. Wertlieb, co-chair (and a founding member) of the nascent CLA Ethics Committee: The Importance of Knowing Who Is, and Who Is Not, Your Client, addressing how key that exercise is to your compliance with California’s Rules of Professional Conduct.
We are also pleased to present a reprint of a piece only recently published in the Association of Business Trial Lawyers’ newsletter, ABTL Reportâan article by Christian G. Andreu-von Euw and Mark Zebrowski, of Morrison & Foerster, The Benefits of Recommitting to Pro Bono, providing real-life examples of ways in which practitioners can benefit from undertaking pro bono representations.
Issue 3 also includes elements of the practical, the theoretical, and the educational:
