Message from the Chair

As the new chair, I am pleased to carry on the good work of Tom Greene, the outgoing chair. Under Tom’s strong guidance of the Litigation Section, 2019 was another banner year for our section. Highlights included the “So You Want to be a Judge” program co-sponsored with the California Women Lawyers in San Francisco, the Litigation and Appellate Summits in Los Angeles, a very informative program on international commercial arbitration presented in Los Angeles, the Week in Legal London program, and much, much more. Your Litigation Section membership brought to your inbox the Litigation Journal, the California Litigation Review, the monthly Litigation Update, and this newsletter, which you have told us are valued benefits of membership.

And we have an exciting year ahead. Our Military and Veterans Affairs Committed is hosting a Veterans Summit at the San Francisco War Memorial on December 9, with Supreme Court Justice Ming Chin just one of the speakers. Our first ever “One and Done” MCLE program will be held in San Diego on January 24 so attorneys can obtain all their MCLE credits in one day. We’ll be presenting more programs at the CLA Annual Meeting September 24-26 in San Diego. Our Litigation and Appellate Summits will be back in San Francisco for Fleet Week on October 9. Wishing you a warm and happy holiday season. We have a lot coming up for you in 2020.
