Personal Statement

The Labor and Employment Law Section of the California Lawyers Association is committed to encouraging the representation of persons of color, women, the LGBTQ community, people with disabilities, other underrepresented groups and those who work in the area of public service. As such, the Labor and Employment Law Section has committed to provide a scholarship to those persons who have traditionally been underrepresented in our field and/or working in public service in order to become familiar with the Labor and Employment Law Section.

Please tell the scholarship committee a few sentences about yourself and what benefit you hope to gain from attending the Labor and Employment Law Section’s New Lawyer Conference.

How did you learn about this scholarship program:

Please note:
(1) The scholarship covers conference registration fees;
(2) Scholarships are not transferable;
(3) Those receiving scholarships will be sent written confirmation in advance of the New Lawyer Conference;
(4) Scholarship recipients who do not attend the New Lawyer Conference will forfeit their scholarship award; and
(5) The application must be emailed by January 8, 2024
