Deadline for submission of comments on patent eligibility jurisprudence extended to October 15, 2021

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has extended the deadline for submitting comments on the state of patent eligibility jurisprudence to October 15, 2021.

The comments will assist the USPTO in preparing a report to Congress on how current jurisprudence may impact U.S. investment and innovation, particularly in critical technologies such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, precision medicine, diagnostic methods, and pharmaceutical treatments.

A Federal Register Notice requesting the comments was published on July 9, 2021.
