Monthly podcast with Ashley Peterson, Neil Kalin, and Frantz Farreau which includes a guest interview, discussions of real property hot topics and new cases, and announcement of upcoming Real Property Law Section events that you don’t want to miss. This month’s guest is David Fu, who was Chair of the Real Property Law Section what seems like eons ago, and who until recently served on the State Judicial Nomination and Evaluation Commission and who will soon begin a term on the Judicial Council in addition to having an active real estate law practice.  This month’s case discussions will address: (1)What use can a dominant tenant make of a road easement; (2) Authenticating electronic signatures to help assure that electronically signed real estate contracts are enforceable ; and (3) more.  We will also discuss the CDC brand new eviction moratorium.  It’s not a continuation of the one that expired July 31.  It’s completely different, and constitutional, at least according to the CDC.

Did you miss us last month? Catch up with past What’s Up With Us! through our YouTube channel. In July, the usual suspects discussed: (1)The enforceability of a lease for an unlawful conversion; (2) When is a contractor not a contractor? Or, when does state statute allow the hirer to refuse to pay, legally; and (3) Can one property owner record what’s going on at a neighbor’s home? July also features an interview with Rachael Callahan, with San Diego Evictions, who spoke about the extension of California’s eviction moratorium. https://bit.ly/3jppjtV
