What’s Up With Us! hosts Neil Kalin and Michael Simkin will discuss the recent cases of interest below and interview a guest:
(1) Citizen Initiative. Whether a city’s delay in recognizing an initiative receiving less than a 2/3 vote is effective.
(2) Tenant Claims Post-Surrender of Possession. Whether a tenant’s surrender of possession precludes tenant from pursuing tort and statutory claims against landlord.
(3) Property Tax Assessment. Whether the assessor can increase a valuation at an appeals board hearing.
(4) Commercial Lease Remedy. Whether parties to a license agreement can agree to waive the right to an unlawful detainer.
