Holly M. Barberi
Holly Barberi spent several years in private practice in Texas and California before moving in-house as General Counsel at real estate brokerages for almost twenty years. When she moved to Vista Sotheby’s International Realty in 2019, she changed her role such that she now incorporates both her legal and management skills as General Manager as well as CLO of the overall holding company assisting the brokerage, its agents and all of the supporting businesses in looking toward the future of real estate. She typically resides in Manhattan Beach with her husband and children, or she can be found in Mammoth Lakes skiing with her family.
William Lee Jansen
Bill Jansen is a founder and partner in Broker Risk Management LLP, a law firm he founded in 2002 to provide legal services to real estate brokers and agents throughout California including risk management, transactional and regulatory advice, education and counseling.
Previously, Mr. Jansen was a founder and principal in Soma Living Real Estate, a venture backed real estate company where he was broker of record, Chief Legal Officer and a member of the executive team.
Prior to Soma Living, for twenty-three years Mr. Jansen was an executive and broker with the Pacific Union family of companies in San Francisco and throughout the Bay Area.
Mr. Jansen was the 1986 President of the San Francisco Association of REALTORS® and for fifteen years (1980-88 and 1992-97) served on its Board of Directors. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the California Association of REALTORS® (CAR) for more than 30 years. In 2024. CAR awarded Mr. Jansen the “California Distinguished REALTOR® Award,” the highest recognition that CAR can bestow on a member.
Mr. Jansen has been a Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) instructor in “Broker Practice,” and has been a contributing author to the CEB publication “Real Property Sales Transactions.”
Mr. Jansen graduated with a B.S. degree from Minnesota State University (current name) and received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Minnesota School of Law. He is an active member of the California Bar Association.
Neil D. Kalin
Assistant General Counsel for California Association of REALTORS®. Started working for C.A.R. in 1987. Senior legal advisor to C.A.R.’s Standard Forms Committee, Author of amicus briefs for C.A.R. for the State and Federal courts.
Instructor for Certified Forms Trainer program, Speaker on real estate legal developments for REALTORS® and attorneys and answers the C.A.R. Legal Hotline.
Editor of legal section of car.org, Instructor for mediator panelists for C.A.R. Real Estate Mediation Center for Consumers, Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association (commercial panel).
Teaches DRE-approved continuing education courses on RPA.
