Dana Muhammad Ali is a Supervising Deputy Attorney General in the Appeals, Writs, and Trials Section in the Los Angeles office of the California Attorney General. She joined the Capital Team immediately after serving as a National Association of Attorneys General Supreme Court Fellow in 2015. She has been the Capital Case Coordinator for Los Angeles since 2019, and in that capacity, oversees cases relating to 200+ capital inmates. Dana has presented oral argument before the California Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in both capital and non-capital cases. She has conducted three evidentiary hearings, one recently in a complex capital case arising from the 1987 convictions for a mass shooting that left 5 teenagers and young adults dead. Dana received her BA from UCSD in 2003, and her JD from California Western School of Law in 2006.
Dale F. Ogden is a Deputy Federal Public Defender in the Federal Public Defender’s Office, Central District of California, in the Non-Capital Habeas Unit—where he predominately works on federal habeas corpus petitions. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Federal Public Defender in the Western District of Texas, most recently handling direct federal criminal appeals. He graduated from Loyola Law School in 2016.
