Speakers: Andy Argyris and Matt Peng.

Andy Argyris advises public and private companies on construction counseling and dispute resolution as well as insurance recovery matters.

Andy focuses his practice on construction litigation and government contracts, advising public and private clients in resolving complex construction and government contracts disputes in federal and state courts. In addition to advising on the negotiation and drafting of contract documents, Andy also handles insurance claims involving commercial general liability, property and builders risk policies.

Matthew D. Peng represents a variety of companies and professionals in the construction industry. Mr. Peng has represented general contractors, developers, architects, engineers, and specialty subcontractors in state and federal courts as well as in arbitration tribunals. He has also succeeded in dealing with municipalities and the California Department of Transportation.

Mr. Peng has defended and prosecuted payment disputes, quantity claims, construction-defect matters, and a variety of breach of contract cases, including enforcement of written and oral agreements. He also frequently guides clients on insurance-related matters such as coverage disagreements, indemnity and defend obligations, and policy coverage requirements. Mr. Peng is also experienced in advising clients throughout the contract-formation phrase, from contract negotiation to contract execution.

Before his tenure at Gordon & Rees, Mr. Peng represented construction contractors, commercial businesses, and insurance companies in complex litigation throughout California. Mr. Peng also represented employees in administrative-law courts. During law school, he was a Law Review editor, and served as a law clerk at several prominent federal agencies, including the Federal Trade Commission, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the United States Department of Labor.
