The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) takes effect January 1, 2024. Despite the name, it has broad implications for trusts and estates practice. The CTA is meant to pull back the curtain and shine a spotlight on client assets, and reporting obligations extend to their professional advisors (in some cases). This session will identify who the CTA applies to, what must be done and when to comply, and considerations and suggestions for estate planners in advance of the effective date.
Speakers: Elizabeth A. Bawden and Susanna Park Kim
