Webinar: California Advance Health Care Directives and End-of-Life Option Act

This webinar will discuss both California Advance Health Care Directives (AHCDs) and the California End-of-Life Option Act (EOLOA). It is intended both for non-estate planning attorneys who will want this information for themselves as well as for family members, friends, and clients, and also for estate-planning attorneys who are advising clients. The program will include an overview of the California AHCD, as well as a discussion of different health care choices that are available when making end-of-life decisions.
The webinar also explains California’s EOLOA, including who is eligible, the procedures that must be followed, and the rights and obligations of the patient and the provider. The program will also explain how the EOLOA and other end of life medical treatments and options apply with the AHCD.

Lisa Klinger
Recently retired from the practice of law, Lisa Klinger began working as an attorney in 1984; she earned a J.D. and M.P.A. from USC. Lisa specialized in employee benefit and employment law, focusing after 2010 on the Affordable Care Act. She has volunteered for a number of years with Compassion and Choices and End of Life Choices California, and since 2016 has given many presentations on the EOLOA and AHCDs.
Marilyn A. Monahan
Marilyn A. Monahan is the owner of the Monahan Law Office in Marina del Rey, CA. Marilyn focuses her practice on advising employers and consultants on compliance with employee benefit and insurance laws, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA. Her volunteer activities include serving as an advisor to the Executive Committee of the Solo and Small Firm Section of the California Lawyers Association (CLA). Marilyn served on the Board of Directors for the Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) from 2008-2018, including as President (2015-2016).
