Legal Challenges Facing Law Firms as Employers Amidst COVID-19

As with all employers, law firms struggle with the challenges facing their business operations during the COVID-19 pandemic and seeking to resume business operations – whether continuing to work remotely or bringing employees back to the office. These challenges include establishing and following protocol for ensuring a safe and healthy workplace, benefit considerations, leaves of absence and a variety of wage and hour issues. In this one hour seminar, the presenters will address these and other pertinent and timely topics.

Cynthia Elkins

Cynthia Elkins, of Elkins Employment Law, provides advice and counsel to employers in all their employment-law and human resource concerns, and provides litigation defense in matters alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, along with compliance issues pertaining to AB5, and state and federal laws. Cynthia is an advisor to the Solo & Small Firm and Litigation Executive Sections with CLA .

Marilyn A. Monahan

Marilyn A. Monahan is the owner of the Monahan Law Office in Marina del Rey, CA. Marilyn focuses her practice on advising employers and consultants on compliance with employee benefit and insurance laws, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA. Her volunteer activities include serving as an advisor to the Executive Committee of the Solo and Small Firm Section of the California Lawyers Association (CLA).Marilyn served on the Board of Directors for the Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) from 2008-2018, including as President (2015-2016).
