Hosted by Terrance J. Evans, Partner at Duane Morris LLP, Vice Chair of CLA, Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the CLA Racial Justice Committee, and Director of Region IX of the National Bar Association.
At this program, the Honorable Judge Charles Smiley, Presiding Judge of the Alameda County Superior Court, will discuss his in-depth research over the past 25 years regarding the rich, triumphant, and sometimes heartbreaking history of Black lawyers, Black judges, and Black Bar Associations in California and the United States. This is one very educational Black History Month Program that you do not want to miss. The Honorable Judge Suzanne R. Bolanos, Chair of the San Francisco County Superior Court Elimination of Bias Committee will give opening remarks.
