  400 Capitol Mall, Sacramento
Travel: Up to 10% within California
Reports to:  Senior IT Manager

Summary

The Web Specialist (WS) will join the California Lawyers Association (CLA) Web Team and work closely with the Marketing Team. The Web and Marketing teams coordinate with CLA staff to achieve Section and CLA content and marketing objectives. Under general supervision, the WS will perform a wide range of tasks, but the primary day-to-day tasks will consist of managing content on the CLA website and creating email campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit copy for websites and email campaigns
  • Update web pages while ensuring content is presented in a clear format
  • Respond to requests from internal staff related to web content or email marketing
  • Create email campaigns for announcements, event marketing, membership marketing, e-newsletters, and case alerts
  • Coordinate marketing efforts for events such as conferences and webinars
  • Create online forms using software such as Google Forms or Survey Monkey
  • Assist with the production of marketing materials and collateral
  • Provide administrative and project support for a variety of marketing programs
  • Collect data and create reports related to membership data, email marketing, and web traffic
  • Assist with the production of online events and webinars
  • Assist with the administration of online communities and listservs
  • Perform other similar or related duties which may not be specifically included within this position description, but which are consistent within the general level of the job and the responsibilities described above

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience
  • Three years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with WordPress CMS
  • Strong understanding of HTML
  • Experience writing copy for websites and email campaigns
  • Experience using email marketing software, such as MailChimp
  • Experience with graphic software, such as: Canva, Adobe Spark, or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to use spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Very strong customer service orientation
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Essential Functions

  • Possess visual capability and digital dexterity to operate a computer and other standard office equipment
  • Make fine visual distinctions upon proofreading written documents and viewing information on a computer screen
  • Endure constant walking, sitting and standing
  • Regular typing
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
  • Some overnight travel required
