Membership renewal season is here and we are here to make the renewal process easy for you and answer all your questions.
In case you have not heard, CLA is updating its membership structure and offering new membership options. We will explain the options, how to renew your membership and the changes we have made on the back end to hopefully improve your member experience.
This summer, in response to feedback from members and nonmembers who wanted more ways to engage with CLA, we began rolling out two new membership options. We’re offering an introductory membership for those who want a simpler association-only option and an all-access membership plan for those who want access to all 17 Sections. For those who like things the way they are, we have you covered with the standard membership plan. It includes access to one Section of your choice and additional Sections for only $40 per year.
Regardless of which membership option you choose, you will receive new value and new benefits, including:
- Our quarterly digital publication (read the most recent edition here).
- Additional content on key areas of general interest to all lawyers, such as law practice management and marketing, solo and small firm, health and wellness, and ethics.
- Free and discounted CLE programming.
- Deeply discounted member benefits, such as a student loan refinancing program from So-Fi.
You will also continue to receive access to the Fastcase research platform included with all memberships.
The easiest way to renew is to select a CLA membership option when you renew your license with the State Bar of California, the regulatory agency for lawyers in California. If you want to take advantage of the new all-access membership, please come over to the CLA site to set that up.

When you visit CLA’s website we hope you’ll find it to be user-friendly. To improve our member experience, we recently moved to a new single sign-on for our platform, which will now link directly to our InReach learning management platform.
Once you create an account, you will be able to use that same login to access MCLE programs, events, publications, online communities, and more.
