By now, you may have heard the buzz about the California Lawyers Association (CLA) 2022 Annual Meeting. If you haven’t, I believe this article is especially for you. While there are many reasons to attend the CLA Annual Meeting, here are the top five reasons why you will not want to miss it.
Number One:
Get Your MCLE On! Our Education is Second to None!
Enhance your knowledge and legal skills by earning up to 14 hours of minimum continuing legal education (MCLE). The three-day conference is packed with inspiring keynotes and MCLE on emerging topics across a wide variety of legal practice areas.
Number Two:
Expand Your Network! Your Network is your Net Worth!
I attended my first CLA Annual Meeting in 2021 from my desktop computer in my Sacramento office. It was not as exciting as what we have in store for you in 2022. We are back in person this year. If you are like me, I know that you are excited to join hundreds of lawyers, judges, and professionals across multiple practice areas from different areas of California for fun networking events. You never know who you will meet and build relationships with at the CLA Annual Meeting.

We Are Planning a Party with a Purpose! Get Your Dancing Shoes On!
CLA has joined forces with the California Judges Association (CJA) to host the first-ever Annual Gala. This event brings together the Bench and the Bar to celebrate the California legal industry and support the work of the California Lawyers Foundation (CLF) and the California Judges Foundation (CJF). Don’t get caught viewing the pictures on social media after the event, wishing you would have attended. Grab your fancy threads and dancing shoes and join us at the Gala for food, entertainment, and fun!
Number Four:
Health and Well-being is in Our DNA!
After the past couple of years, CLA has taken significant steps to create programming that supports attorneys’ complete well-being beyond the practice of law. While attorney wellness is critical for the delivery of competent legal services to the public, a healthy work-life balance is even more critical. The CLA Annual Meeting will feature several health and wellness sessions, which have been inspired by the “Wellness Suite” sponsored by The Other Bar.

Sunny San Diego—What More Can I Say?
On Thursday, September 15, 2022, for three days, CLA’s home will be The Hilton San Diego Bayfront where we will host both the Annual Meeting and Gala. This event will overlook the gorgeous Harbor right downtown near the happening Gaslamp Quarter. Make it a family affair and visit the San Diego Zoo or SeaWorld during a moment of downtime. Not many of us need a reason to visit San Diego but WE GOT YOU!
