Spotlight on Diversity

The BLS is a proud Diversity Partner sponsor of the California Minority Counsel Program’s 2019 Annual Business Conference taking place September 11-13 at the L.A. 2019 is the 100th anniversary of the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment.  This important moment in U.S. history providing for women’s right to vote was discussed in a program at the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference in Spokane, Washington.  Panelists included the Hon. Dorothy Nelson, Senior Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Hon. Morgan Christen, Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Stephenie Foster of Smash Strategies, Professor Rebecca Mead and Elaine Weiss.  As discussed during the panel at the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, further information on the history of the Nineteenth Amendment is contained in the latest issue of Western Legal History, a Publication of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Historical Society, including articles by Ninth Circuit judges.
