Nonprofit Organizations Committee: Conference Call on September 23

The Nonprofit Organizations Committee is pleased to announce our upcoming presentation:

Institutional Exemptions – The Basics
September 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.

Please join the Nonprofit Organizations Committee for a program on the topic, Institutional Exemptions – The Basics, presented by Sy Nguyen.  This presentation will cover the 3 basic types of exemptions, which are: 1) Church Exemption 2) Religious Exemption and 3) Welfare Exemption. Since the Church and Religious exemptions are fairly straightforward, more time will be spent on the Welfare Exemption since this exemption type encompasses a wide range of non-profit organizations, with exempt uses ranging from education, charitable, religious and low income housing. Helpful tips will be provided for first time and long-time filers to help the appraisers streamline claims processing.

Sy Nguyen is a Real Property Appraisal Specialist with 5 years of experience processing and reviewing exemptions of all types in Major Exemptions and spent 10 years in Major Properties working on many landmark properties in downtown Los Angeles and the South Bay.

*This program has been approved for 1 hour of MCLE credit by the California Community Foundation.  The California Lawyers Association is not the provider of this MCLE credit

Following the presentation, the Nonprofit Organizations Committee will continue our regular meeting with announcements, updates, and discussion topics of interest to nonprofit organization attorneys.
