The program will be presented by Tania M. The Charitable Trust Section investigates and litigates legal and administrative actions for registration and reporting violations, deceptive solicitation and misrepresentation in public filings, and seeks penalties and damages for loss of charitable assets through fraud, diversion, self-dealing transactions, excessive compensation, waste and mismanagement. With over 30 years of litigation experience, Ms. Ibanez is the Attorney General’s technical expert on charitable trust enforcement actions and probate litigation. Ms. Ibanez also approves and evaluates all proposed statutes and regulations pertaining to charities and fundraisers and provides advice and technical assistance to the Attorney General on policy topics involving charities, charitable trustees and nonprofit hospitals.
