The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) issued a Statewide Quarantine and Removal from Sale order on December 4th for the organic fertilizer product Agro Gold WS.  This product has been distributed within a co-packed box containing another product labeled as an organic herbicide, WEED SLAYER.  The notice was sent to all organic operations registered in California.  According to the stop sale order, CDFA lab analysis of the product detected the presence of Diquat and Glyphosate, which are substances prohibited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Organic Program for use in organic production.  Quarantined inventory must be held until further notice.  CDFA has not yet released a statement regarding the outcome of the inventory (i.e. disposal, or use on conventional crop land).

Agro Gold WS is manufactured by Florida-based Agro Research International LLC.
