Agribusiness Committee Hosting Annual California Farm Bureau Federation Ag Issues Update Meeting

The Agribusiness Committee of the California Lawyers Association’s Business Law Section will kick off its 2020 Agriculture Tour series with the California Farm Bureau Federation’s Ag Issues Update Meeting, to be held in Sacramento on Friday, February 21, 2020.  The program is a unique opportunity for practitioners to hear the perspectives of Farm Bureau’s legal staff on recent judicial opinions, pending court cases, and key legislative and regulatory developments affecting agribusiness throughout California. 

This no-cost meeting will include lunch and 5.0 units of general MCLE credit for attendance.  Anticipated speakers and their topics include:

  • Carl Borden – Agricultural Employment Law and Regulatory Developments
  • Kari Fisher – Water Quality Issues
  • Justin Fredrickson – Water Rights/Supply
  • Robert Spiegel – Utility Related Wildfire Issues
  • Sunshine Saldivar – Industrial Hemp
  • Chris Scheuring – SGMA and Land Use Issues
  • Jim Houston – Legislative Updates

This activity has been approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit by the State Bar of California in the amount of 5.0 hours.  Baker Manock & Jensen certifies that this activity conforms to the standards for approved educational activities prescribed by the rules and regulations of the State Bar of California governing minimum continuing legal education.
