Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Section Launches Series of Summer Associate Mixers
CLA’s Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Section inaugurated its series of Summer Associate Mixers in Los Angeles last month.
At the Noe Bar in the Omni Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles on June 15, the first happy hour mixer provided future attorneys and future economic consultants an opportunity to network with like-minded peers interested in antitrust and consumer protection and currently practicing attorneys and economists. Section leaders were also on hand to connect with students.
Over 70 professionals attended, including 60 students interning with area offices of national law firms, economic consulting firms, and government agencies.
Attendees had the opportunity to network and hear from active Section members and leaders on how to get involved with CLA and the Section and how the Section could assist their professional development.
Section Chair Dominique Alepin and Education Subcommittee Chair Steve Vieux gave brief remarks welcoming the guests and offering examples of how Section involvement advanced their careers. Attendance at the mixer was free. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres were provided, thanks to the support of the following sponsors: the law firms Wilmer Hale and Baron & Budd, and the economic consulting firms, Ankura and Cornerstone Research Group. The Section’s next Summer Associate Mixer will be held in San Francisco at the Harborview Restaurant on July 12. Hope to see you there!
