An overview of the California administrative tax appeals process in the wake of the historic reorganization of the California tax agencies. The presentation will provide a review of the agency reorganization and a step by step walk through of what happens when you appeal a case to the newly created Office of Tax Appeals.

An overview of a federal tax case from initial assessment through litigation and resolution. This presentation will provide a summary for tax practitioners of the options and considerations for handling a tax controversy matter and interacting with the IRS at the various stages of the proceedings.

This program will discuss communications in the age of TMI, within the context of the Rules of Professional Conduct and evidentiary rules pertaining to attorneyclient privilege and the work product doctrine.
